He is a scholarly researcher, has patented optimized routing solutions for ships and commanded some of the largest ice-class vessels.Ashok is a former Master Mariner, an expert ice navigator, an innovator and technologist who has completed a number of research projects of global importance connected to the Marine and Maritime Sector that extends from marine ecology, marine bio-fouling to transport economics and logistics . He is an Arctic maritime expert having dedicated more than ten years researching sustainable maritime transport routes in the Arctic region.Ashok is a currently an Associate Professor of International Maritime Business at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
